Griffin (OK) with 42 pts. and Roy Williams (Texas), who was coming off an hamstring injury that cost him most of the regular season, scored 25. As for John's East team their injuries were too much to over come. With Byron Leftwich (Marshall), Carnell Williams (Auburn) sidelined, his East could only muster 42 pts.

Playoff Recap
The East playoff featured Mike's 7 and 3 club taking on John's 9 and 1 team. John was lead by WR Darius Watts (Marshall) with 25 pts. and QB Ben Roethlisberger (Miami OH) with 20. In the West, John's team at 6 and 4 played Bob's undefeated squad which featured three All Americans and the league MVP. On paper, it seemed Bob had the upper hand. And it looked good for Bob early as he got a combined 59 pts from his two headed running back monster of Brock Forsey (Boise) and Chris Brown (Colorado). John however kept pace as QB Kliff Kingsbury scored 32 while RB Rodney Davis (Fresno) and WR Shaun McDonald (Ariz St.) added 21. Playoff Recap
Going in the Eastern Division playoffs, Lou's East knew it had an uphill battle against John's East even though both teams finished the regular season with 7 and 2 records. John's team had beaten Lou's squad by a combined total of 230 to 100 in two previous regular season games including a 140 to 44 trashing in week 8.
Playing with revenge in their hearts Lou's team almost pulled the upset. Featuring All American Chester Taylor's (Toledo) 34 pts. on the ground and All American Jabar Gaffney (Florida) 23 pts. receiving, Lou managed to force an overtime period but John's number one ranked offense proved to be too much in the end. Behind All American Byron Leftwich's (Marshall) 25 points and 285 yds passing yards, John got the one point overtime win, 89 to 88. This marked the first OT game in league history.

In the West, John squared off once again with Lou. However, the result would be much different. The two teams had split the season series at one game a piece. Lou's team held the scoring edge 182 to 157. Both teams entered the playoffs with 5 and 4 records.
Using a balanced attack, Lou scored early and often. Josh McCown (LA Tech) hooked up through the air with Nate Burleson (Neveda) for a combined total of 51 pts. That coupled with Ken Simonton's (Oregon State)29 pts. was enough to produce a 106-86 win for Lou's West. John's team never got the offense moving however, his kicker Mike Biselli (Stanford) did set a record for scoring for a kicker with 15 pts. in the contest.
